The Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology (MSAE), founded in 2009, is a chapter of the American Society for Acoustic Ecology (ASAE), a membership organization dedicated to exploring the role of sound in natural habitats and human societies, and promoting public dialogue concerning the identification, preservation, and restoration of natural and cultural sound environments. The ASAE is the United States affiliate of the World Forum for Acoustic Ecology (WFAE).
The MSAE realizes it mission through such initiatives as the World Listening Project. Learn more about the MSAE at http://mwsae.org
WLP/MSAE meetings are held once a month in Chicago. Announcements, agendas, and discussions are available the worldlistening yahoo group, and to the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology google discussion group.
