Cristina Italiani, di formazione classica con studi e corsi di perfezionamento in Conservatori e Accademie anche all’estero ha sviluppato un interesse per l’improvvisazione e per la Musica tradizionale del Mediterraneo, Musica orientale e sta coltivando il desiderio perpetuo di abbattere le frontiere tra i generi, facendo convergere i diversi stili musicali che la attraversano nei suoi progetti musicali.

Appassionata di arti performative e arti visive in generale, integra nella sua pratica sia il modo di pensare la musica che l’immagine, la scenografa, la performance e la poesia della risonanza tra tutti questi campi.

Nella seconda parte l’artista Cristina Italiani ci illustrerà come ha reinterpretato  i field recording e soundscape nei recenti lavori creando un viaggio sonoro che ci trasporta in un’atmosfera, metafisica, cosmica e libera da ogni genere. Registrati a questo programma su linktr.ee/worldlistening

You are invited to join the World Listening Project during its next Session on Listening — “Music beyond boundaries, between genres with Cristina Italiani” (Thursday, May 15 (11 p.m. UTC+2 / 9 p.m. UTC+0 / 4 p.m. UTC-5)).

Cristina Italiani, classically trained in studies and advanced courses in conservatories and academies in Italy and abroad, has developed an an approach that involves improvisation with traditional Mediterranean music and music from the Far East. Her work is based on her cultivated desire to break down boundaries between genres and recombine different musical styles. Passionate about the performing and visual arts, her practice involves thinking about music and imagery, performance and poetic resonance between these different fields.

During her presentation Italiani will illustrate how she has been reinterpreting field recordings and soundscapes in recent works, creating a sonic journey that transports us to an atmosphere — metaphysical, cosmic and unconfined by any one genre.
